Peter Andre and other show business colleagues attended the funeral of Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees.

The 'Behind Closed Doors' hit maker was "devastated" to learn of the death of the Bee Gees singer earlier this month following a long battle with ill health, and now wants to record a song the 'Staying Alive' star wrote for him with the proceeds going to charity.

The mysterious girl singer attended along with other celebrities including DJ Mike Read, lyricist Sir Tim Rice, DJ Paul Gambaccini, actor Leslie Phillips, TV spoon-bender Uri Geller and actress Susan George at the hour-long service in Thame, Oxfordshire.

Peter Andre earlier revealed that Robin Gibb wrote him a song before he passed away last month.

"I was absolutely devastated to hear about Robin Gibb passing away last week. I was lucky enough to call him a friend and I feel privileged to have known him."



"He was such a total legend musically and also a kind man, and he's going to be missed so much."

He revealed: "He very kindly wrote a song for me just recently and I'm determined to finish working on it when I get back to the United Kingdom. I'm going to release it and make sure all the proceeds go to his favourite charity."

Peter has also been struggling to deal with his own brother's cancer fight. In his My Life series we have all seen Peter Andre's brother Andrew Andre cancer battle. Andrew Andre has been diagnosed with kidney cancer which was diagnosed as terminal earlier in the year by Australian doctors.

His mother Barbara Gibb, now in her 90s, buried the third of her sons under a rain-filled sky. She was accompanied by Gibb's children and his surviving brother Barry. Gibb's family, including brother Barry and wife Dwina Hundreds of fans lined the windswept high street in Thame, Oxfordshire, to pay their respects to the Bee Gees singer and songwriter. Although the funeral service was private, the family said Gibb had wanted his local friends to be able to say goodbye.
A glass-sided, horse-drawn carriage carried the singer's coffin draped in the flag of his birthplace the Isle of Man. It was met outside the gates of his 13th century home by a guard of honour formed by air cadets from 594 Thame Squadron, reflecting Gibb's support for the British armed forces. Led by a solitary piper and followed by Gibb's two Irish wolfhounds, Ollie and Missy, the funeral cortege made its way once round Thame Town Hall.

Singer Peter Andre, DJ Mike Reid, psychic Uri Geller and lyricist Sir Tim Rice were among the friends and family who made up the funeral procession. Moira Harfield, a fan who had travelled from Winchester to pay her respects, said: "I've been a fan of the Bee Gees for nearly 47 years. They've just always been a part of my life. The music's always been there ...

Pete revealed that it felt surreal to be at Robin Gibbs funeral, when his own brother Andrew Andre was also suffering from cancer of the kidney. He truly believes in the power of positive thinking and is over whelmed with the support given by fans to his brothers recovery.

Pete's launch of the initial East Grinstead New York Coffee Club cafe was a great success as can be seen by this video from a local resident. The town has never seen such crowds before!

Earlier in the year the star had received a great deal of bad press after they opened the original shop and it received an official inspection. The celebrity star commented that these were teething issues as it was their first venture into the business and all would be resolved speedily. He was true to his word as usual.

Peter Andre Andrew Andre Cancer Research Fund raising Ball is being arranged. Please help spread the word to make this event a great success.
Peter Andre has announced that he is going to be hosting a fund raising event in aid of Cancer Research UK.
A Ball will be held to help raise funds for this worthwhile cause. The Crystal Ball will be held on 21st September 2012 and all proceeds will go to the Cancer Researchers UK charity.

Pete's brother Andrew Andre was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year which is why the singer feels so passionately about the raising of funds for cancer. (See Andrew Andre kidney cancer post)
Andrew Andre has been being treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
The singer, My Life and Here to help star commented: "When my brother was told he had cancer it hit my whole family."
We made the tough decision to bring him to the United Kingdom for treatment but I honestly believe that decision saved his life."
Andrew Andre's cancer diagnosis in Australia was terminal with no hope for a cure. Pete asked for a second opinion in the UK and was told there was a slim chance his brother would respond to treatment here.
Pete said: "The cancer research and the ongoing drug trials in this country are truly inspirational and I wanted to give something back."

The singer and celebrity said: "For his present, I've promised to take him away on holiday as soon as the chemotherapy is over. We'll either go to Cyprus or Dubai, I think.

The singer and reality TV star has been keeping a vigil by his sibling Andrew's bedside while he has been treated for kidney cancer in London and when he has finished his latest course of chemotherapy, he wants to take him on holiday to celebrate his 55th birthday.

The My Life and Here to Help stars brother Andrew Andre is not the only celebrity to suffer from Kidney cancer. X Factor winner Matt Cardle also suffered from kidney cancer many years ago. He has steadfastly refused to think that the illness is untreatable. Peter said: 'I can't face thinking the worst. I refuse to. I can't face life without my beloved brother, so I won't let myself think about that.
'We started off thinking the worst, but now we will not let that enter our minds. Positive thinking is important
'At first all the doctors were honest with us. They said, 'You know you can't cure this, eventually the inevitable will happen.'
'I'm sorry but b******s to that prognosis. That's not happening. Not on our watch.'

Pete asked for a second opinion from London doctors who have said there is a small chance that he may react well to treatment. He has since been taken on a new treatment program.
